Hello Marylanders! My name is Becca I have only posted  a few times in the past. I am mainly a lurker. I am so glad I have found this site , it has really helped. I love all the support that everyone gives to each other.  I am freaking out because my surgery is on monday Oct. 15th. I can't believe it's comming up so soon. My WLS journey so far has been very short. I have been thinking about it for a few years and finaly decided to go for it. I saw my PCP two months ago and she recommended a surgeon and now I'm having surgery on monday! I am so thankful for the insurance I have. I was approved right away and I didn't have to do a six month diet history.  Anyway, I just thought I better introduce myself and say Hi. I'll probably be posting more often after the surgery.

Welcome Becca!  And best of luck next week for an event-free surgery and speedy recovery!   Where are you having it done, and which procedure are you having?

Great to have you here Becca! I hope your experience with Bayview is as good as mine! I had Dr. S, but my brother had open RNY with Dr. Magnuson. We are both doing well. Keep us posted!! ~~ Trish

Best of luck with your WLS journey.  You know where to come to get questions answered - at least to the best of our ability.  Try not to freak out.  Stay optimistic, stay focused, and remember that it took a long time to get to where we are, and it will take time to get healthy again.  Keep us updated. Thank You all for the kind words! It really means a lot to me knowing I can talk to others who have gone thru the same thing or will be. Any way my insurance is Oxford Health Plans and is part of United Health Care Plus.  It's thru my husband who works for a NY based company.
