FitDay

Hi everyone,

I have a question about using FitDay online to track my food intake.  I have seen this website recommended numerous times, but how do you track sugars?  I need a work around here.  I emailed FitDay and I'm still waiting for a response.  I thought maybe I could use the alcohol slot since it does count grams.

Any thoughts?  Suggestions for another site to try? I also posted this on the Main Board.

Thanks

April I got the DietMinder from GNC or you can get it from Barnes and Noble, I like that better.  Take a look at it.  Our Nut at Sinai really likes it. Hugs Kristen http://www.dietminder.com/dietminder.asp

Hi April, at a serving we are told not to have more than 5 grams of sugar.  When you enter your foods on fitday it will track the carbs which is actually sugar. If you add the surgars to the alcohol sugars it will be incorrect.  There are foods that has alcohol sugars and it will calculate it for you.   You need to keep your carb at less than 30% a day.   Good luck with everything and I hope you are are doing wonderfully.

Thanks Cira, I will use the carb count as my sugars.  I really like the FitDay site. How are you doing?  I went to your profile page and checked out the pictures.  You look great.  You need to post some updated pics though. Thanks again for the input.

You're welcome April. Let me know how it goes for you with fitday.  I have been using it for quite a while and I really like it a lot.  I am doung great. Thanks for asking. I just posted an updated pic on my 6 month post op it is on the very first page when you go into my profile you just have to scroll down.  The photos that are uploaded are to the max so what I do now is add a pic to an update. There are quite a few there. Thanks for the comment on my daughter Jessica.  She is the one who made me a grandma at 40!! She was 8 1/2 months pregnant at her H.S. graduation. Take care

Hi April, on some of the other boards I have heard people talk about a similar site called www.calorieking.com I don't know anything about it but you might want to check it out. I use fitday myself. Jo

My NUT informed us that calorieking.com updates every week. It is basicallly a website that gives details of every food either from scratch or premade and processed ones to restaurant menu items( I actually tried Chipotle's steak salad the other day and felt so ashamed because calorie wise it is huge even without guacamolie and cheese! Give it a try, you might like it, Ellie

Thanks Ellie.  I'm cruising the internet to see which online journal fits me best.  I will look at calorieking.com.  Do you use it?  And, does it count sugars?

I have to admit I have only used it for dining out or for premade food such as for example Sushi or Ethnic foods that are n't labled such as Hummus. It counts Carbohydrates for sure since that is my number one demon,(let me rephrase that since i just checked) it gives all the inforamtion iuncluding sugar and sodium) Hope that helps Ellie
