Hey everyone, it's been a while since I posted. How is everyone? Ok, the reason I'm posting today is that I just had my 3 week visit with Dr. Greene and he was concerned that I'm still 275. I was 275 at the 1 week visit. I am VERY concerned why I havent lost anymore weight. I have been drinking right, no food and protein drinks. I don't get it. I really hope this aint a blunder or this is all I'm gonna lose. I DO know that women lose weight faster than men, but this is plain weird for me. I am walking everyday also. Please, input is really welcome and appreciated. Later. mike

Hey Mike - Good to hear from you!  Please don't start worrying at this early stage of the game.  Your body has undergone (to it) a huge trauma, and is trying to recover.  At this point, the best you can do is to be compliant - drink, walk and rest.  Your body needs to heal so it can work harder.  It will happen - I think we all, at one time, thought we were going to be the patient for whom this didn't work.  Trust me, as long as we work it, it works!!! You're gonna be fine and even more of a chick-magnet than before - sorry Penny!!!!!  Also, this is just my unscientific opinion, but MEN lose faster than women - another one of life's injustices!!!!!! Hang in there and keep doing what you're doing - you're doing it all right! Tia

LOL, she'll trip when she sees that response Tia, LMAO. Anywayz, thanks for the support, I'm just worried that I done this for nothing. I guess it's all part of the process. I hope that it is true that Men lose faster. Thanks

Hi Mike! What Tia Said!!! No worries this early - check out my blog --- I was the same way, and now I am 7 months out and down 109#!!!  It will happen - your body is making major adjustments right now! It will catch up to itself!    And by the way, I have NEVER heard that women lose faster  - I have spent a lifetime of getting annoyed when men would walk into my WW meetings because I knew each week my losses would look so small! LOL LOL LOL  Hang in there and keep us posted! Caryn

Amen, Caryn!!!  It's just like the commercial where the wife says, "He stops eating bread and loses 12 pounds; I haven't eaten bread in 3 years and can't button my pants!!!!" Oh, the horrible unfairness of it all!!! Tia

There should almost be a forum just for stories like this, but years ago, my ex-hubby and I joined WW together.  I would stick to plan bite for bite, walk 20 minutes every day, drink my water, and lose 1 - 2 # a week (with a starting weight over 300 that didn't seem quite right).  He would "kinda" follow plan, not really exercise, and sip some water occasionally, and lose 6 - 7 a week.  I say it's because Eve at the apple - just another way God is punishing us!

Yep, I remember at one WW meeting, a man lost 18 pounds (EIGHTEEN POUNDS!!!) his very first week.  Of course, everyone wanted to know his secret.  The answer?  I stopped drinking beer!!! I am telling you, just hearing that was enough to make me want to START drinking!!!! I agree, enough is enough!!!! Tia
