I saw Dr. Gandsas today.  Something is wrong with my Esophagus it is not working or there is a stricture.  Dr. G got me into Hopkins on Monday to have a Endoscopy, more putting to sleep, I can't wait!  So I take my eating class tomorrow but still no eating on till next Wednesday.  He is worried something might get stuck.  So there is a possibilty of a Dilatation on Monday or if my Esophagus is not working right there is a liquid med that you have to take everyday.  I am another fever today so they took me off macrbid and put me on Augmentin for the UTI that will not go away.  Everything seemed to be fine but this chest pain hurts worse in the past two days and I have been waiting for the bottom to fall out. Kristen, i am so sorry you are still feeling sick.  I hope all goes well on Monday and you do not have a stricture but if you do they will take care of it right there and then.  Does your doctor have you on prevacid by anychane?  I hope your UTI clears up soon. Please keep us posted. Hugs,

Yes you can take tums.. But how about asking dr to prescribe prevacid it works great and they have it as a soluble tablet.   Maybe you are having heartburn that is causing the chest pain.   I hope you feel better soon. hugs,

Hi Kristen, No need to panic about the stricture or the dilation.   I had an esophageal stricture that I let go (because I thought it was something that I was doing wrong****il I developed not only the stricture but a fistula to the old pouch (talk about PAIN!!!).   Ultimately, I had to be dilated 3 times over the course of several months, but I'm fine.   After the 3rd dilation, Dr Sofronski did say that if it continued he would do a revision to surgically correct if it continued to be a problem. I think my opening from my esophagus to my pouch is still abnormally narrow but that keeps me from being able to just eat and eat.   Even at 3 1/2 years post op, the quantities I am able to eat are limited, especially when the food is 'dense' protein. Your issue is being caught much sooner than mine was.   I wast about 5 months post op when it got really bad, and almost 6 months post op when I had the first dilation. Best wishes for feeling better soon. Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!
