I am having such a hard time getting in fluids and protein shakes becasue my new little baby tummy keeps gurgling and churning!  (Growling, too it seems)!!  Any ideas?  I am also so tired of sweet drinks and shakes...any "savory" treat ideas.  I am 5 days out and walking twice a day for 15 minutes each and have very little pain.  Today I'm just feeling down and weak so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Hi Kenra I am glad you are up and about.  That sounds like the wonderful GAS, it took me 2 good weeks to get that out.  My husband and daughter would laugh at me cause of the noise my tummy would make.  I think Dr. Gandsas was trying to float me to the moon.  I have to show you some pics after surgery, WOW!  I would drink and walk as much as you can, roll on the bed from side to side.  My husband tells me I am turning into a trucker with all the burps, farts and other wonderful noises that come from my new tummy.  You sound like you are on the right path.  Hugs Kristen

Try some s/f popsicles:  you have to get some fluids in:  sounds like maybe you are getting dehydrated???

Hi Kendra, Yeah, the noises are just par for the course.  My tummy has gotten progressively quieter over the last month or so.  The sweet stuff got old really fast for me when I was on the pureed diet.  Being a big fan of Mexican food, I put together the following: 3 oz. fat free vegetarian refried beans 1 tablespoon enchilada sauce (also fat free) 1 tablespoon shredded fat free cheese on top heat in microwave  for 10-30 seconds This worked great for me.  However, proceed with caution.  Beans don't give me gas, but they do tend to bother some folks.  If so, you might try Beeno as a preventative measure.  Both the NP and the nut at my surgeon's office gave this recipe the "thumbs up".   Keep up the good work! Best, Elaine

Hi Kendra, I am so glad you are doing good.  Congratulations on doing so well.   I had the very loud churning pouch for the first four weeks after surgery.   It was so loud my dog and cat would look at me all weird.  When ever I had milk it was worse.  I did better with milk way later.  I just had non milk protein drinks and it worked better for me and my tummy was happier. I hope everything continues to go great for you. hugs,

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Sounds like you need to walk. Walking helps to quiet down that noise as well as release it. I loved s/f popscicles, hot choclate, and soups. Soups I think really helped me with my fluid intake. They still do.
