Introduction

Hello everyone, I'm new to OH...I normally do not post in forums, but this is such a very supportative environment, I couldn't resist. My name is Geanelle, and I live in Randallstown MD.  I've been considering WLS since 2006, and finally decided to have RNY.  My surgeon is Dr. Alex Gandsas and I'm scheduled to have surgey on October 17 (in the am).  I am very nervous and yet excited all at the same time.  

Welcome, Geanelle!!!!!  I hope you do find this board and its members to be supportive - that's what we're here for.  We kind of breathed new life into it about 18 months ago, and always welcome newbies.  We try to get together every so often - in fact, our next get-together is October 21, but somehow, I'll think you'll be a little pre-occupied at that time!!! You must be so excited, scared, nervous, etc., as October 17 is right around the corner.  Don't worry, everything you're feeling is normal.  Dr. G. has lots of patients here and I've heard nothing but good things about him - sounds like you'll be in excellent hands. Welcome Geanelle!  You will love it here, get ready for the best ride of your life.  Dr. G rocks my socks!  He is the best thing that has happened to me.  I am sure you have been to lots of classes and more to come but please let us know if there is anything we can help with.  Sinai was a great experience!

Hi Geanelle, and welcome! I am relatively new myself, having just started posting about 2 months ago. What a great place for love, support and sometimes just giggles too. I'm not new to message board posting, but have found this one to be the most supportive and welcoming place! How exciting that you have your surgery coming up just around the corner. We'll all be here to cheer you on! You'll find lots of great advice from the pro's who have already had their surgeries, and get lots of questions from those like me who are waiting (most more patiently than myself, lol) to have it.  I have two coworkers who had surgery with Dr. G, and both think he's just da bomb! From everything I have heard, you are in great hands.
