Food info please
So it looks like every DR as a different way of eating post surgery. But can you all give me the gist of it.
Like are there foods that are completely off limits? What is good and what is not. I kinda feel like I know that this is my only option BUT I want to be educated on all aspects of this life change.
The only thing I know for sure is that my favorite- Panda Express Orange chicken is going bye byes. LOL!!!

Hi Dee,
I've read hundreds of posts and you are correct about each of us being different. The big thing I take away from it all is after RNY the body cannot handle sugar the way is once could so it will basically always need to be restricted and the protein we need so badly has to be in the form of a supplement at least to a large degree because we can't consume/absorb enough protein through normal digestion. Vitamins are also required to keep us healthy, but I think we should all take them anyway.
Hope this helps,
Mark
Each program is different, and each of our bodies are different too. We keep hearing about the no-no of sugars, but we also need to watch fats - many folks "dump" on them too. I have not pushed the envelope with sugars - I have found some splenda type replacements to get an occasional sweet fix, but I have pushed it a bit with a fried food and it didn't go so well. I had gone out with a group and had my tuna on a plate with 2 saltines, and grabbed one of the chicken wings off the plate (they were fried) - it wasn't good! But in the end, fats and sugars got us here in the first place, so we are better off all around without them! Best of luck in figuring out what works for you and doesn't! It's a lot of trial and error!
