SEE-food
Hi everyone,
Just a quick share. Had one of my first "tests" last night at a list crab and shrimp feast. Others have posted success with steamed crab and I thought it an ideal time to see how my food reconditioning was going. I had crab soup with as many of the potatoes removed as I could, about 4 shrimp, thoroughly picked crab meat, and iced tea over several hours with only worse than normal gas as a consequence. Chewed everything to pulp for sure. Very little desire to hit the sweets, although we sat as far away from them as possible. Maintained the glow of a satisfied tummy for a long time with no pain. Being able to socialize over food was a big pre-op concern. So far so good.
Hope everyone else had a good weekend,
Mark
I know what you mean Mark, I head back to work tomorrow and I am a bit worried how I am going to get my eating in. Drinking will be okay, but right now I need to get in around 123 grams of protein a day. I am a DS'er. So I really spent my day today shopping and preparing so I am good to go with protein rich snacks and lunches. Glad you did so well. It gives me encouragement. Hugs. Jo
Jo -
Just wanted to wish you luck on your return to work. Mine was pretty uneventful, but then, I did take 8 weeks off, which is a lot longer than most people do. I got sick as a dog from Chinese food my first week back (still do), but other than that, it was okay.
Good luck and let me know if you need anything!
Tia
Mark - Congrats!!!!!
You're quickly learning what a NSV (non-scale victory) is!! Just the fact that you felt full is an accomplishment!! Pre-op, I only knew what it felt like to be uncomfortably stuffed. Now, it's amazing that I "hear" my pouch!! Sometimes, others do, too, but that's another story.
BTW, we expect to see you and yours at our Weber's Farm gathering (see my post)!
