I am so tired.  I walked a lot this morning at "The Mills Mall" but I am beat.  I have been feeling like this for the past 3 days.  I need a nap!  This Monday will be 3 weeks since surgery, when did you start B12 shots etc.. Hugs Kristen   aka Zombie

Kristen, I can't remember what surgery you had. I had open RNY almost 2 years ago and have to have the b-12 shot once a month. My surgeon said that the way everything is rearranged the shot is the only way to get the b-12 vitamin because my body will not absorb the b-12 vitamin if taking anything by mouth. I think I had my first shot at my 1 month post-op visit. I got tired very easily for the first month after surgery but once I got over that BOY did I have some energy. Nothing could stop me. =) Kelli

I take B12 pills everyday, not to mention the vitamins, calcium and iron pills. B12 is very important for our system. I am sure you are supposed to be taking them. Did you get a list with your discharge papers? Check with your dr. asap, because they do make a difference! Feel better soon!!! ~~ Trish

Dr. G does not start his patient on B12 till 4 weeks out.  I see him on Wednesday this week and going to see if he can do my blood work now and then I can start the shot.  I need something to go with all these other Vitamins I have been taking.

I am 2 1/2 months out and I felt sluggish also for about a month. I get a shot once a monthand I can tell the difference the next day. I am 45lbs down and many more to go, but its fun to see it coming off. Hope your energy picks back up.

Does anyone give yourself your  own shot ? I have taken sublingual tablets as I prefer not to pay for the Rx then have to pay the copay each month for the drs office to give me the shot? My PCP is testing my B12 levels on the sublingual to check absorption (it was fine in the past).
