Odd question
So, I've been worrying about this for a couple of days, so I'd better ask....
Colon cancer runs in my family and because of that, I have already had two colonoscopies and both were fine. But, I am due for another in the spring and probably every 3-5 years for the rest of my life. I've estimating my RNY surgery will probably be in the spring, so should I try to get the colonoscopy scheduled sooner? Also, after RNY, will I be able to handle the gross liquids or giant horse pills to clear me out when I have to have this procedure done?
Yup...they have pills now. I took them for my last one almost three years ago. If memory serves, I only had to drink one thing and it was not that horrible fleet crap! The pills are still rough because they are big and you have to take them several times and like four or six at a time, I think, but still way better than that liquid junk.
I had a colonoscopy last year (about 2 1/2 years post op). I didn't have to drink the fleet stuff, but I don't remember what it was that I did take. It was a combination of pills and a mixture that I had to drink. The whole deal was written as a script to have filled at the pharmacy.
I've had to do a clean out think also in connection with having lithotripsy and not had a problem. I've just made sure that I kept myself hydrated while I was doing the clean out.
Best of luck,
Hugs, Mo
Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!
