Going from thumb size to ?

Germany is beautiful!  This time of year will be great too.  Where are you going?  We lived there via the military for a total of 7 years.  We lived in Kaiserslautern & Mannheim.  I love Bavaria!!!   Robin

I'm going to Bechtolsheim. That is where my sister lives... It is right out of Dexheim. There is a Army base there. I just love to go there. I am from there. My mother met my dad in Dexheim.

Forgot... If you don't know where that is , it is right out sid of Mainz. Living in Germany for 7 years you should know where everything is. My sister has a weingut there. My sister is taking me to Neu Schweinstein "SP"? It will be her 60th and my 55th birthday. So excited can't wait!!!!!!!!!! Ellie

Yep, I know where Dexheim & Mainz are.  I went to Neuschwanstein one time.  It was beautiful but I must say that I never made it into the Castle.  I was very overweight then, nearly 300 lbs.  The walk up the hill to the base of the castle, just before the 180+ stairs to the door of the castle, was excruiciating for me to make.  I had to stop and catch my breath half way up the hill.  They have horse-drawn carriages to take you up to the base but my husband wouldn't let me take it up.  He said the hill would be a breeze to walk.  He wasn't trying to be mean, he just wasn't thinking about how difficult that kind of walk is for someone who is that obese and doesn't hardly move.  He of course was super fit having to do PT in the Army 4 days a week.  I don't think he even broke a sweat.  I was terribly disappointed that I didn't get to see inside the castle so one of these days, now that I am no longer obese and in better shape, I will go back to Germany and do just that!!!!  I hope you have a wonderful time.  It's Oktober Fest time right now so lots of stuff going on.    I don't know if there are really that many stairs to the door of the castle but I do remember that it was more than 100 stairs! 

Well,  My sister and I are going to take the carriage up. I have a fussed ankle and my sister has bad knees. If it wasn't for that we couod make it. I can't wait!!!!!!! I think what I'll do is put a big bow on myself as I'm getting off of the plane. Because I'm my sisters birthday gift. People are going to think I'm crazy but it will be funny. Oh and tape a piece of paper on me that says Happy Birthday ROSIE.....    The last time I was in Germany I ate Ice Cream every day. Guess I won't be doing that this time. But that's OK. Last time everyone except my sister and neice saw me I was 240 pounds. Stuffing my face like there was no end. I usually gained 10 pounds in 2 weeks when I go to Germany. Not this time.......  Great talking to you got to run. Having company this weekend.  Ellie
