It's in Aetna's hands now!

Hi Sandi!  You're really only 1 month behind me.  But, I have been blessed to have an insurance company that will approve with only 3 months of diet/exercise. That is something I am eternally grateful for. So, the gurney will barely get a chance to get cold between my procedure and  yours!  Darla's warming up the bench for me, I'll just scoot over some and there will be plenty of room for you right after.
Hugs!

I'm glad I called the surgeons office to follow up. I found out one of my prior docs didn't send my records.  They are going to submit for approval without them, but just in case, they still want me to keep on requesting them.  I originally wrote (and sent a check for the fee) to request them the first week of August, followed up at the end of August, and again in the middle of September.  Yesterday, I finally got very persistent (as if I wasn't in my prior calls) and found out that my records were archived 2-3 months ago, and it will take them 2 months to get them out of storage and able to be copied.  WHAT?  Now, mind you, I didn't have health insurance from 2002-2005, so I got this checkup at a non-profit where I used to live in CA in 2004.  So, I'm dealing with a non-profit, which does amazing work in the community, but has no need for customer service, if you know what I mean. They are a wonderful group, but the demand for services is high, and their resources are limited... But, I was just livid to find out they have had my request for almost 2 months, and they were going to make me wait 2 more months for info? I told her that this was holding up insurance approval, and that if they had just started the process when my original request came in, or my 2nd request via phone, or even my 3rd (when they told me it would only be another week), then they would probably have my information by now. This is my life on hold here... so, they are going to ru**** and it should only take 2 weeks. Once I have it, whether I need it or not, I am going to send a donation in. I'm not heartless, and I do appreciate their efforts to help at this point.  I also understand how this could get delayed like it has... I'm just frustrated, since I have been careful to get all of my information together to submit for approval. OH, and my psych eval is holding up the submission for approval.  I hand carried it, since the therapist hadn't mailed it as of last week, and I had an appointment with the surgeon scheduled for this week.  But, hand carrying it makes it a little suspicious, so the nurse has to follow up on it.  She was out yesterday... so, hopefully she will review it today, and send it on it's way in the right direction.  The doc knew I hand carried it, and he read it, and had no problem with it.  So, I'm not expecting much of a delay.
Hugs!
