Is this freaky or what??????

I was to have my colonoscopy today......I took my first dose of that lovely phospho soda last nite around 6 pm and began the countdown till explosion. At 9 pm I still had nothing to report! I was kinda freaked out so I called my PCP who informed me to "go ahead and take your second dose, it wont hurt you".............this was done at 9:30 pm. At midnight, I still had nothing!!!!!!!! I finally gave up and went to sleep! I got up with the kids at 5:30 this morning, almost scared to stand up in fear that I had exploded in my sleep.......but NOPE, there was nothing still! I waited until 9 am and called the gastro doc and they LAUGHED  at me, until they realized I wasnt laughing! Now by this point, I am CONCERNED and not in a lughing mood..........finally I was transferred to a nurse who was sympathetic. She said I shoudl be concerned, and she scheduled me an appointment with my PCP, and rescheduled my test for October 3! At my PCP appointment, all I found out is that my belly was tender to the touch (DUH!!!!!!!!), and I may need some other medicine to prep next time. I am still kinda freaked out...........has anyone else had this experience or known of one like this?

Hi Heather,  IMO, no one at your doctors office should ever laugh at you. If directly confronting the office manager or admins is too much, say something to your Doc.  I can only offer my experience with the phospho soda. Even though the instructions called for less than a third of the bottle I was advised to down the whole 1.5 ounce. I'm guessing you just didn't get enough in each dose to do the job. It took me about 3 hours for things to really get rocking. Keep your head up, what's up ahead is an amazing trip and its going to be AWESOME! Mark, who can clear an entire floor now by just announcing he is heading to the bathroom.

Mark....    Yes I was especially disturbed by the nurse who laughed......I felt that was highly rude and unprofessional! You spoke of the 1.5 ounces........I drank that TWICE!!!!!!! Here it is 2 days later and I am still waiting for SOMETHING to happen......I havent even as much as passed gas! Oh well......I am going to re-try this on October 3 with some pills in addition to the liquid, maybe it will work then!
