Birth Control question...

Hi Everyone!!  Happy TGIF!! Yesterday I had my mandatory pre-op class ay Sinai led by the NUT.  Anyway, she briefly mentioned something about the birth control pill not being well absorbed after gastric bypass surgery.  I forgot to ask her more about it when the class was over.  Does anyone know about this and if you don't mind answering...what do you use? Kendra, I should had been using the nuvaring like other women here are or else I would not be in the predicament I am today. lol

My 10month old is a "surprise" baby, too!!  As my mom always tells me... a surprise is something that you didn't know you wanted until you got it!!  So far he's been my best and most content baby.  I will say that I locked myself in the bathroom and cried a little when the pregnancy test was positive!  After 2 IVF pregnancy's and baby's this was a SURPRISE. You've made it to the 2nd trimester - YEAH!!

Your Mom is right about a surprise.  I did cry a lot at first but now I am happy and I just want everthing to continue to go well with the pregnancy.  I am happy to be out of the dreaded first trimester.   I just wish the nausea would led up some.    Congratulations on your wonderful surprise.  Babies are blessings!

Gotta love those hot flashes!!  Seriously, I'm in the middle of it right now (I will be 50 in November) and my hormones are just wacky.  I don't really have hot flashes.  I just can't regulate my body temperature and I'm hot all the time.  The least little activity makes me sweat unless the room is as cold as a meat locker.  And with BGE's rate increases, I sure can't afford to keep the house that cold! I had some fertility issues that weren't tied to weight, so I doubt I'd get pregnant no matter how much weight I lost.  All things considered, it would be a real miracle.

Hi Kendra I use yasmin. Have used it since my surgery and it works because I have not gotten pregnant

OMG!  I am having a cow.  I did not know this stuff.  Dr. Gandsas had me stop BCP one week before surgery.  I work in OBGNY and I DO NOT and CAN NOT have anymore children due to my one kidney.  Holy cow what am I going to do?  I usually take Yasmin and not to start that back up for another 4 weeks.
