CT Scan

The first of my tests is today. It is easy enough, a CT Scan. I had to fight the radiology department yesterday because they were trying to force that NASTY chalky berry flavored contrast on me after I told them I have a history of puking for 3 days after I use that. All they could say was "are you allergic to berries? If not you have to drink it".............I lost it! My husband had to intervene because I became belligerant..........tolerance yesterday was not one of my better qualities! Finally after numerous phone calls to my PCP and gaining past reports of my reaction to the contrast, they gave in and gave me some stuff that looks like iced tea. I have used it before and it isnt too bad......tastes like crystal light in a way. So I start drinking it around 10:30 and have the test done at 12:30. They are looking for more cysts in my pelvic area.......I hope they find them.......hopefully then it will rule out the other theories they have and possibley cancel my colonoscopy next Friday! I am sure this is just wishful thinking at this point! Well if I ever gain approval for WLS, I should have all the tests outta the way thanks to my health issues! LOL. I have a gastro doc who is now pushing my insurance company for approval.......he is pretty determined and has told me not to lose hope. I guess that is reassuring! I am still searching for an insurance company that covers WLS.....on an individual policy. Cira......thanks for convincing me to keep posting no matter how mediocre it may appear! ~heather j.

You're right, you probably will have all required tests done for your WLS approval.  Sorry for the hassles yesterday.  May the rest of the roads be hurdle free. TraciL
