Question for all of you that were at Bayview

From all the past posts I have read it sounds like a private room is the way to go. Even if my insurance will not cover it I am willing to pay. My question is how do I request a private room? I called the admitting office several weeks ago asking them this question and they told me there was nothing they could do! Any info or someone to contact would be a great help. Thanks in advance!

Hi again, insurance doesn't cover but in reality it's only like $50 a night -- totally worth it.

They saythat they will try to get you a private room. In fact, right after surgery I was in with someone else, and later that night they said they had an opening and put me in a private room. It's just 'hit or miss', but the nurses will really try to do what they can for you.

I just came home from bayview this evening. I wish I had thought about getting a private room. In some ways, it wasn't that bad. I think the construction disturbed me more than anything. THey are doing construction there right now and that is the worst. It is ridiculous how loud it is there in the middle of the night.
