Observations from a big day...

I was the maid of  honor in a dear friend's wedding yesterday.  And have several WLS related observations.  First, the positive, after not seeing many of the guests since before surgery, it surely felt good to hear the comments and the facial expressions when they saw me 103# lighter! But on a note of the physical effects of being 6 months post op, on a hot day, sleep deprived from airport runs, bridal set up stuff, setting up the hall, and all of the other "duties as assigned" of a MOH, it kicked my butt!!! LOL   After the wedding, a day of heat in an unairconditioned hall, socializing, cutting and serving the cake (no, it wasn't part of the caterer's deal, and since I have worked weddings before in my father's catering days, I got the honor of serving cake to 150), trying to eat, but it being so hot I couldn't get much in, trying to get the water in, but was sweating so much I couldn't get enough in,  I spent the evening up with a very crampy pouch, actually dry-heaving quite a bit.  After getting the bride and groom off to the airport this am for the honeymoon, getting a 3 oz serving of tuna in, and after a 3 hour nap, I am back to me.  So to the post-op go-getters, I say don't over do it! Take time to eat your planned foods, DRINK YOUR WATER, and get sleep!!! But damn, I looked good in that little red Hawiian dress! (yes, this was the Don Ho Wedding extrordiaire)

It sounds like you looked beautiful and I'm glad you're feeling back to normal!  Do you have some time now to "catch up" on your rest?  I hope so! Kendra

You are right it is important to always focus on getting your required fluids, food and rest.    I am glad that you survived and you are back to your normal self again.  Share a pic of you in that cute little Hawiian dress I would love to see you.    I am sure your friend must have been very happy with everything that you did for you.  You are a wonderful friend she is a lucky gal. Hugs,

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

The one wow you didn't mention- 100 plus pounds ago, you wouldn't have been able to do all of that. At least, I know I wouldn't have been able. Way to go!!!!!

Well, after 8 hours last night, and a 3 hour nap yesterday, along with about a gallon of water in between, I am back to  me today! Thank God - I wasn't liking that cramping pouch thing too much!  I posted a picture on my profile - it's the only one I have so far, and it is chest and up...when I get a full length I'll throw it up there.   The really good news is that I lost about 3.4 # over the weekend! See - I just need to be a wedding planner along with surgery and I'll be at goal in NO TIME! LOL LOL L OL
