Shocking!

It is amazing how quickly things can happen after you have had this surgery.    Case in point.   Last Wednesday night I was in the ER with some severe stomach pains.   Nothing wrong so it must have been food.   At the same time, I have been trying to stabilize my weight at 208.   But after my hospital stay, a day of sleep afterwards and then working the state fair over the weekend, my weight had dropped to 204 by yesterday morning (Monday - Labor day).    I cut the grass and trimmed the hedges.  I also had to finish some things on my observatory.   Following that I needed to do my training for my 5K, so I ran 6 miles in 60 minutes and 3 seconds.   I ate normally, but was busy so there were no extras.    Got up this morning and, as is part of my morning routine, got on the scale.    I just chuckled.    There, looking up at me was a number.   The problem was the first number was a 1.   198 to be exact.   I got off and got back on.   Still 198.    I showed my wife and promised I would work hard to get back to 208.    But even with my wife's concerns, it was still very shocking (in a good way) to see that 1 before the other numbers! Hope your day is good one!

Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa , a lion wakes up. It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

I am running in the Race to Remeber on 9/11.   Yes...a Tuesday morning at 7am through downtown Baltimore.   But, it is election day in the city and it does start at 7am.    Should be an interesting race. I wanted to run in the Race for the Cure as well, but since it is on the day after the Baltimore Marathon (which we are running as a 4 person relay), there is no shot for that one. I am finishing up my races for this year with a 5K in Ocean City with my oldest Daughter (12) on October 29th.  Should be fun!

A 1?  Are you kidding me?  I'm not even sure how I'd react to that.  You've done a fantastic job so far and are a real inspiration to me.  Just don't get all anorexic on me. Continued good luck, Ted

Hi Dave, Wow I nearly fell off my chair when I read this post.  I know Grace wanted to choke you when you told her.  lol    Congratulations seeing ONDERLAND but your behind do not belong there so go back to 208 or Grace, Gino and I will be kicking you butt!!!   With lots of love tho.  lol Please take very good care of yourself we want you with some meat on your bones you know.    Guess what Gino got serious enough to to start protein shakes for breakfast and lunch he has two healthy snacks and an awesome healthy dinner.  He knows I love him and I want him healthy.  He takes 9 medications a day, he has sleep apnea, diabetes type ll, high cholesterol and gout.  I want him here for a very long time.  Soon I will be sending his behind over to you so you can train him for all your 5 k's next year!!!   Hugs to you!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
