11 days till surgery and I feel like a cow!
Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!

Kristen,
I think what you are going through is perfectly normal. Food has been a huge focus in our lives--for better or for worse, and that relationship is about to change. Just as you would want to see a good friend if you knew you wouldn't see them again for a very long time, you want to have an opportunity to say goodbye to the foods that you love as well. Like Jo said, enjoy it, but do it in moderation. Good luck to you! Marcia
Hi Kristen
You bring up a valid concern, and you aren't nuts. My birthday is less than a week before the surgery. I'm sure we'll do something revolving around food, but I'm not going to stress over it. The strangest thing seems to be happening since I started the protein shakes as a meal replacement for breakfast. My appetite has dropped. I do eat a big dinner, but its mostly to prevent before bed refrigerator raids which were once common. This isn't to say I'm not struggling. There is a huge "me against the buffet" attitude when I eat. I don't get the "stop, you're full" signal from my stomach until I've overeaten. In fact, I put on a few pounds after dropping about 20 using the food plan from the nut. That signal to stop is so important. I'm depending on the surgery to help enforce this. Difficult for me to imagine not wanting to eat. I'm just not thinking I'll have a last dinner and gorge. Mark, who now lurks in the liquid meal replacement aisle
