Support for a Spouse

Encourage Joe to join the site -- that's what I did when my partner was preparing for the surgery 4 years ago.  Reading the post and talking to people really alleviated some of my worry; however there was still concern.

My husband is technically challenged.  Thats why I'm printing out everyone's reply so he can read them.  Maybe I'll give him a crash course in computer use while I'm off recuperating.

Well I'm sure he can manage getting to the site.  Tell him he's the boss of the computer -- if he can manage the mouse he'll be okay -- tell him we are waiting for him.

You are right.  Joe loves oldies music.  One thing he can do is navigate the Oldies.com website (I even put a shortcut on the desktop just for him).  I'll try to get him on here.

i've noticed a number of posts about spousal support during this bariatric journey... just remember most support groups welcome the spouses (including our support group)... and it's usually very important that the spouse understand what's goin' on during this time, as well as how much the group appreciates the efforts of the one taking care of us.  please tell your spouse to come with you to the support group meetings. kay

Kay, I got him to a couple of support group meetings about 2 years ago.  He thinks they are silly and not worthwhile.  "Seen one, seen them all"  I could go on. So, if thats the only thing he won't do, I won't complain too much or too often.  But I will try to chip away at him every now and then. Thanks,

Wait a min April Ted is going to have 5-6 hours on me, So I see Ted winning or dragging me down the hall. LOL April, I asked Jeff last night if he had any questions after I posted here, and he told me no.  Here is my feeling, if they have questions they are going to ask.  Ask his if he has questions, put it out there that you want to know.  It there anything you want to ask me or is there you would like to know.  We all know the in's and out's of this surgery BECASUE we have been doing our homework.  Think about that. Hugs Kristen  12 days till your big day!  10 for me! wahooo

Thanks Kristen I guess your right about Ted.  Still, never underestimate GIRL POWER! I will ask Joe point blank if he has any questions.  Good suggestion, thanks. Our countdown goes on.  What a hoot! We went shopping at WalMart today.  Bought a few toiletries for the hospital.  Also, bought 2 enemas and a bottle of laxative.  UMMMMMM!  Can't wait for that experience!
