And lip balm!  Good luck and don't be surprised if you're nervous, scared, etc., it's all normal and before you know, your clothes will be falling off of you. Be good to yourself and post-op - walk, sip, repeat!!  Update us when you can, Tia

Hi Melaine, I'm a couple weeks behind you and I made a list. The two things that stand out most are corn starch for the bed to help wick away moisture and loose fitting clothes. I hope things go well for you. Mark

Hey Melanie! Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a very speedy recovery! The two most important things (in my opinion) are the lip balm that Tia mentioned and the comfy clothes to wear home.    AND .. as soon as they let (or force) you .. walk walk walk .. do laps in the hospital .. the more walking the faster the gas dissipates and  you will be feeling better. Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

AND .. as soon as they let (or force) you .. walk walk walk .. do laps in the hospital .. the more walking the faster the gas dissipates and  you will be feeling better. And having had other lap surgery, let me tell you the easy way to get up out of bed:  use the motor on the bed to push you up into a sitting position.  It's much less pain to let the bed do the work rather than your abs.  My nurse showed me this one when I had my gallbladder operation.

I think everyone covered the main things.  Walking is key and as painful as it may be you have to force yourself to move in little spurts. It helps with the recovery. I wish you the best for an uneventful surgery, a speedy recovery.  Best Wishes! Kelli
