Well I went to the bank the other day to cash a check. The teller asked for my license so I gave it to her. She then asked for a second ID because my driver's license didn't look like me anymore. I laughed and told her that I have since lost 130 pounds and after she really looked closely she realized it actually was me. =)   So I decided I better get to the DMV to get a new license. The lady at the DMV actually told me that I probably would have gotten in trouble with the police if I were to get pulled over because of the drastic change in pictures.  So I spent the $30 and now have a drivers license that looks like me AND I didnt even have to lie about my weight.  LOL. Not sure about how true it is though, someone at my work told me that you are suppose to get a new license with every 20 pounds. =) Oh well. just had to laugh. Kelli

Hi Kelli! What a fun story!   The whole 18 years I lived in MD prior to WLS surgery my drivers license said 175 ..   I'm not sure I EVER weighed 175 except for fleeting moments over that period of time.   Anyway, the last time I had my license renewed .. I actually DID weigh about 175 .. so I made my license say 150 .. JUST in case I get there Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Hi Mo, Always fudgin the truth on the license. It is funny how we all do that. And you will get to 150 if that is your goal. You can do it. =)  I figured I have another 30 pounds to go to get to my goal so I will just keep it at the correct weight for now. My goal is 160 so that way I can say that I am literally half the person I used to be. LOL. And the funny thing was my drivers license was not up for renewal until 2010 but had to bite the bullet since I was getting re-carded at the bank. =) Hugs Kelli

Congratulations - probably the first time you didn't mind being at the MVA, huh? I have one friend (a man I work with) who had Gastric Bypass several years ago.  Last month when his family was on vacation in Ocean City, he and the wife got ONE NIGHT to go out without the kids so they went to a bar that cards everyone (this gentleman is in his 50s so they obviously knew he was of age) and they wouldn't let him in.  His wife was so mad that he hadn't yet gotten a new license.  His first day back to the office, guess where he spent his lunch break?

Thanks!  Yeah exactly. Didn't mind at all going to the MVA but thank goodness the little kiosk thing in Columbia is hardly ever busy and I was in and out within 30 minutes. I can relate to you friend because even the lady at the MVA said that she would have to really study my picture and me before realizing we were the same person just me alot lighter.  =) Kelli

I think I had better make plans to get my license updated. I also need to get my Driver's Ed ID updated at the same time.   This is definitely a good thing.
