Took First Step Today
Congrats on the first steps: Get ready for the ride of your life.
I heard people refer to this as a roller coaster ride of emotions. That is true.
I am seven weeks out and could not be happier.
I started at the gym three weeks ago after the surgeon gave the ok.
I have missed only one day in the three weeks.
Energy level is better every day.
Ask away on the questions: we have all been where you are and
will understand. I would not have changed the entire process except for one thing. I wish
I had done this years ago.
Hello,
I'm sure I am not alone in saying how much courage it takes to begin this journey. I am about 2 weeks pre-op and noticed a few butterflies in there with my Carnation breakfast these days. A support system is definitely a good idea too and it begins with your PCP in my opinion. Mine was initially against surgery as well, but has done a complete 180 in the last year or so. Part of the change relates to the higher level of safety laproscopic RNY has brought. He seems to be an old schooler. Don't fix won't "aint broke mentality.
I hope your pre-op journey is smooth and speedy.

Hi Tia!
Thanks for the response.
I didn't think I'd be feeling much of anything this early in the process but already, less than 24 hours after just speaking to someone on an initial inquiry basis, I'm happy, excited, scared, and have no patience).
I have never been good at waiting for anything...so that part will probably drive me nuts but at least there's a lot of "stuff" to do between now and the surgery so I'll at least feel like I'm really doing something.
