My pre-op chest x-ray came back with a nodule in the left lower lung.  I am having a COW and I am so upset.  I am going to BWMC tonight to have a CT of my chest.  Please help me pray.  I have wanted this surgery for so long.  This is a big bump in the road and want it to be gone.  I hope and pray this is NOTHING! Kristen, Hang in there please! your nervousness and worry is completley understandable. What you should do is try to remember all the times that you had heard any false alarms or horrible news and then it turned out to be nothing, I am sure you can think of a few times that you got a tricky news  if not for yourself but for your loved ones and in the end everytihng became normal again.  I am sure people telling you to be positive would be fruistrating until you get your results, so what you should is at least try to think only on your upcoming surgery and think nothing has been differnet today than yhesterday and try to stay away from the informaitonal websites  ( any sane person can make a mountain out of a mole reading these inforamtion, trust me been there done that myself!)  Please let us knwo as soon as you hear something and always remember that this wonderful group is here to help and listen to anything, Ellie

I am so stressed to the max, I have seen so many patients with this, working in the medical field but never for myself.  I guess that is what is really upsetting me the most. Kristen

Don't think you're getting out of our hallway race that easily! Seriously, I know (believe me, I know) how hard it is to relax while you wait for the CT scan, but just remember their are gobs of things that it can be that are not serious.  I'll be keeping you in my prayers - don't forget to keep us informed. Take Care, Ted

Kristen, I know this has got to be very scary for you and I am not even going to pretent to tell you to try to relax because I know I would be scared to death too.  But I do want you to know to try to stay positive and know that we are here for you.  I will definitely be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.  I hope and pray it is nothing to worry about.   Please keep us posted as soon as you get word from the CT scan. (((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Kristin: I know just how you feel:  about 10 days before my surgury my PCP said she wanted me to get cardiac clearance before surgury:  mind you at this point I had been all over the place - one doctor after anotherfor eight months.  The surgeons office had not said a word about cardiac clearance.  My EKG was fine.. So anyway off to see the cardiac Dr. who then orders a stress test.  I went thru hell for a couple days worrying about everything.  It turned out well;  the Cardiologist said he didn't need to see me again ( everything was fine) but when I was in the building visiting my PCP stop by and let them see how well I was doing after surgury. Seven weeks ; and 46 Lbs. later I am doing great.  No complications; no hunger; and exercising every day.   Relax and trust in God.  He will see you thru. Darla

Kristen,      First - stop and take a deep breath.

Second - remember, there is nothing you can do but get the CT done.

Third - Be positive.  This blip on the radar screen is just a bump in the road in your weight loss journey. Barb

Kristen, It may very well be nothing on the x-ray. My chest x-ray went from being lost to never being taken ( I dreamt it I guess), to "we saw a spot, go get another one" in the course of about 2 weeks time. If you want a chuckle or two read my blog for the details. Turns out it was nothing and the tech even said heavy people aren't the best candidates for x-ray. Please don't stress, it doesn't change a thing. Keepin' my fingers crossed for ya! Mark

Kristen, I am sure you are very scared right now. Just take it one step at a time and try to stay positive. My thoughts are with you in hopes that it is nothing and all is fine. Hang in there and hope all goes well with the CT. Please let us all know when you get results back. Hugs Kelli

Kristin, First, I will be thinking only good, positive thoughts for you! Second, is this your first chest x-ray?  My doc had me get one now, before they will even submit for insurance approval.  I'm surprised your doc waited until 2 weeks before surgery. It is a good thing knowing if something is wrong, so that you can work to get it mended. It is simply a pitstop, not a road block.
Hugs!
Kathy
