Surgery was a breeze, though I had umbilical hernia surgery at the same time and that area is SORE. I had a horrible headache after surgery that never left. Last night was bad. ... 102 fever, sore throat, ear aches. Called surgeon to confirm what I already thought--it was unrelated to WLS. Then went to Patient First to get checked at 9:30 PM. I have an significant upper resperatory infection...yuck. Got antibiotics and hope to kick it soon. The WLS is enough to deal with! Started Protien shake today..could only drink  3/4.  Wish I felt better but really, nothing from the surgery is really bothering me. Anyone deal with something like this?

Here's to hoping that the antibiotic kicks in real quick.  Just take it easy, drink plenty of fluids and baby yourself.  Let us know how it goes.  So glad to hear that your surgery was a breeze.   TraciL

Unfortunately, hospitals are dull of germs. I did get a bad respiratory illness once following a surgical procedure. There are so may sick people in hospitals... hard to stay well. Keep sipping your fluids and rest.

I never had any problems following the surgery but I also had tan umbilical hernia that my surgeon fixed. I can definitely sympathize with being sore.  The good news is that it goes away relatively soon.  You should notice improvements on probably a daily basis. --Eric
