Who's lurking ???

It's coming up on 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning!   Who's out there just reading posts and not posing ???   If you've not posted before .. jump right in and introduce yourself .. if you have posted .. well say hi anyway !  if you are a regular 'lurker' .. and you know who you are .. what's up in your world today? I've been really busy with work lately and haven't devoted much time to the board, other than being a lurker myself and looking quick to see who's said what and maybe post a quick reply but not many. I'm enjoying my weekend.   Mr Mo had the 'late' shift on Friday so he wasn't going to be home til at least 8:30 or 9 p.m. so I came home, fed Lefty and started working on my quilting project.   I completely lost track of time.   I was still out on the porch sewing when Mr Mo got home after 10 p.m. Yesterday I gave up on the issues with the new-to-me Kenmore and pulled my Sinder Featherweight out and started sewing about 8 a.m.   We ran out about 1 o'clock to do a couple of errands and I came home and started sewing again.   Took a break when we went out to dinner, but came back and played with sewing and cutting strips until close to 10 p.m.   I'm really excited about how it's coming out and if I keep at it today I might actually have the top pieced together. We were considering heading to DC to the Nats/Mets game today but the weather is looking iffy and I've got this allergy headache thing going on.  The tylenol allergy pills are helping and maybe a shower will finish pulling me out of the funk!   Of course, if we go to the game .. there will be no sewing going on!!! I've been doing well with my gym routine, though I seem to have developed a bad habit of not going on Friday a.m.    I've got to stop that practice and get back on track!   I do love how I feel after my 30 to 40 minutes at the gym in the morning.  It gives me a lift all day! Ok, time to see what a shower will do for me and get busy doing something besides sitting at the 'puter.   Lefty seems to think he needs breakfast! Have  a wonderful day . Hugs, Mo

Hi Mo, Quilting sounds like a great idea to be doing today. It's a rainy day here in Bel Air. I hope it clears up; I'm supposed to go see the Ravens and Giants play tonight. Right now I have to run to the mall and get my girls shoes for a wedding they're in next month. What a lovely day to be running around! (sarcasm). Have a great day! ~~ Trish

Hi Mo and Trish, It is cloudy here in Middle River, but no rain yet. I hope to get the pups put for a walk before any rain hits. I have a greyhound and one that I am fostering and my foster chewed a whoe in my wall last night. I did not know whether to laugh or punish her, I have never seen a dog chew a wall. I have had five fosters and this one is a piece of work. She plays sweet and innocent and lovely duvely until she discovered the walls. Good luck on the quilt, I have always wanted to learn how to do that, but I have no clue how to sew. I cant even work my sewing machine my grandma gave me. The Ravens game should be fun!! I am going out to lunch today with some friends for my birthday. I am turning 31 tomorrow and I cant believe it. I feel like I just graduated college, the years fly by way too fast. Anyway have a great Sunday! Amy

Hey Amy We stopped at Petsmart in Annapolis yesterday just to look at the kitties (we can't get any new kitties til Lefty is gone .. he's too old to adapt to kittens in the house .. but we always look) and the Greyhound adoption folks were there.   OMG they are sweet dogs but some of the ones they had there yesterday were the size of small ponies!!!   If (and that is a big IF) we were ever to get a dog it would have to be a small to mid-size dog just because we are not that far from our dream of full timing in the RV and while I see folks with BIG dogs RV-ing, I don't think that is for us! I'm just a bit (well .. more than a bit) older than you and went to school in the old days when we actually took Home Ec in Jr High (I'm older than 'middle' school) and so I learned to sew in 7th and 8th grade.  (I also supposedly learned to cook . but the sewing stuck better than the cooking part did ).   My Singer Featherweight machine is 60 years old.  It was a wedding gift to my mother when she was married.   Even the Kenmore that I just got is probably as old as you are!  It was my godmother's machine and I remember when she got it back in the early/mid 70s. My quilt top is moving right along.   I'm close to piecing the top together.   That is the 'easy' part.  I'm going to really struggle with actually making it a quilt with the batting and back! Have a happy birthday!  Enjoy your lunch out. Hugs, Mo

Hi Mo, Coming in late in the conversation... How old is your cat?  Sometimes you would be surprised in that young cats can bring new life to older cats. I used to work for a shelter, and people always feel as though their pet couldn't adapt.  I'm envious that you will be doing so much RVing, and look forward to a time when I can do something similar. A greyhound as you know would be terribly depressed cooped up in an RV. They are runners by nature.  But you'll find the right dog for your lifestyle when and where you least expect it.  PetSmart (I work for them here on the North side of town part-time) gets rescue groups visiting all the time. I fondly remember the days of home-ec.  I have thought alot about taking up sewing again for fun. Perhaps you'll inspire me I'm a NJ transplant down here in Charm city, and a Yankees fan.  Hope you won't hold THAT against me.
Hugs!

Hi Kathy! I'll try not to hold the 'Yankees' thing against you!!!   Actually, Mr Mo has a brother who's a diehard Yankee fan so we have learned tolerance! Our Lefty is going to be 17 in September.   He is 1/2 of a pair of black & white tuxedos (Poncho & Lefty) that moved in with us in November 1990.   We lost Poncho last November rather suddenly with kidney failure.   Lefty is enjoying life as an 'only' and while I know we could probably bring another cat into the house we are using his age as an excuse.   We will start again with two littermates again when he's gone. I talk about getting a dog but we are more cat people, so I would be really surprised if we ever get a dog, but you are right ... if we are to get a dog the right one will come into our life at the right time! Hugs, Mo

Greyhounds are such "greyt" (heehee) pets. They sleep 20 hours of the day. They really are couch potatoes. Ramen (my grey) is so cute, she rounds up her stuffed animals everyday and gives them to me to play when I get home from work, but she only plays about 5 minutes before going back to sleep. I grey would fit in with you and the RV! They would just ball up and sleep! ;) Thanks for the birthday wish, turning 31 was pretty uneventful. I guess they get less interesting as the years go by. Hope the quilt is coming along!! Amy

Hey Trish I think we made the right call on not going to the game today.  It's drizzly down here in Arnold ... Mr Mo has the game on and it looks like it has rained over at RFK but they are playing now. I'd love to go to the Ravens-Giants tonight ... because I'm a Giants fan from WAYYYYYYYYYY back .. We are transplanted NY Metro area folks so even though we have been in Maryland 20 plus years, we still root for our NY area teams .. Giants, Mets, Rangers, etc.    Good luck with the running around!   We went out to the deli and got breakfast sandiwches earlier and now I'm in for the day!   I'm not even venturing out to the RV to see how my handiwork thus far is going to look on the bed unless it clears up and the sun comes out. Hugs, Mo
