Good Evening Everyone,

I am meeting with the nut on the 27th for my assment and to start the dieting offically. My questions is does anyone know if there is a way to get protein samples to try and see what you like instead of buying one and then not liking it? I was price shopping the average is about 30.00 to 40.00 a container for powder. I can not afford to buy alot as my work is cutting back to part time which is going to create problems with getting ready for the surgery. I am looking for a new job and i just hope and it will all work out in the end. I hate to switch jobs well I am preparing for the surgery but I can not live on 24 hours a week. So if anyone has any idea about where I might be about to get some samples or if you know anyone looking for office help please let me know. Thank you all for listening to me ramble. This is just a very stressful time right now for me with the job and dieting. But this to will pass and I will look back and laugh about it all.

Thanks for everything,
Kellie

Hi Kelly, There are several sites that will sell samples.  I know for sure that www.bariatriceating.com sells samples.  I believe Unjury (www.unjury.com) also sells samples. I'm not sure, but I think www.vitalady.com sells samples too. You have a good attitude about doing what you feel you need to do, it'll work out.  Feel free to come here and ramble away, we've all been there :-) HTH

Take Care,

Hi Kelly, I ordered samples from Vitalady.com  They are $2 each and it helped me choose without having to pay so much money for a container I would not use.   I hope everything works out for you soon. Big hugs Cira

Hi Kellie, I missed everyone too. My washer machine broke down and we were leaving to NC the very next day so I had to get the clothes clean for the trip. It had been ages since I have been to a laundry mat and not fun with three kids.  lol I hope to see you in the next meeting and I am praying that you find a job soon.   Have you checked in the MD gazzette they always have great jobs posted. I am doing ok. It has been a hard week for me but I am hanging in there.  My new ting now is getting so dizzy I feel like I am going to faint and I have to lay down.  Not easy to do when you have little ones at home with you all day long. Hopefully all this shall pass soon and I can enjoy this *last* pregnancy!  lol Have a great day! hugs

Being that you are one of Dr. Schweitzer's patients, I am assuming that your nut is probably Ashli Greenwald or one of her associates.  She will probably have samples to give you.  Just ask.  Most nutritionists that deal with bariatric patients will keep samples around.

I go to the weight loss management program with bayview on the 27th not sure who I am going to be seeing but my assment is going to bw 3 hours I think they said. I have to meet with a behorival doctor to learn about my relationship with food and then I will meet with the nut who will give me the guide lines I guess. I know that the weight loss program is apart of the hospital, but they are not at the hospital, so I am thinking that the nut that you are referring to is one at the hospital. But thanks for the info I will ask when I go.

Hope you are having a good day,

Kellie

Hi. If you look on my profile, I have done a spread sheet of various samples that I got from bariatric eating. There were quite a number of samples. I was glad that I tried them. I found a few that were really great. Good luck. Jo

Hi Kellie..... I have my 6 month Nut follow up at Bayview on the 27th.... Sadly it probably won't be Ashli though. She's having a baby really, really soon (if not already). My appt is in the afternoon.... I'm guessing you have the AM one though.

I started out doing Unjury but i switched to GNC.  I'd be happy to get a sample of a couple of the flavors to you.  (ie one scoop in a ziplock) The 100% whey comes in smaller bags too if you just want to try out a flavor. Right now i have the vanilla & chocolate in their Whey Isopure and the orange cream and banana cream in the 100% whey.  I just got the orange and banana ones and they are really yummy in vanilla yogurt (Although the orange was pretty good on it's own just mixed with water.)  I don't work for them or get any kickback but....... If you like the GNC products it really helps to get one of their Gold cards which gets you a 20% discount off of any of their sales. (a typical once a month sale for their proteins is B1G1-50% off) i wouldn't pay for the larger $30-40 containers until you've tried it a few times although the store did tell me they would take it back if i didn't like it when i bought my first couple "vats" of powder. ~K
