Question...

I am having surgery on friday and I was told there is no diet restrictions until 1200 midnight before the surgery... I am thinking its because I am diabetic??????  Any thoughts on this???  Not sure I want them cutting when there could be food in my gut???? THanks  Marcie

every doc is different..... Some dr's do a 2 week liquid diet.... Some don't... I didn't have any restrictions till eve of surgery either.... Now i didn't temp fate and eat anything weird or heavy on my system either maybe like that one day... I finished up any pre-op last meals the weekend before.... 

My restrictions were to eat nothing after midnight.  I think the last time I ate was a little snack around 9pm.   It was long gone by the time I had surgery the next morning! :)  Just don't eat like a crazy person until midnight and you'll be FINE!!!!  GOod luck!

Hey Marcie, I just had my anesthesia consult and they told me nothing to eat or drink after midnight. That was the only restriction. It is getting soooooooooooooo close for us!!!
