Day 11

Hi All, Sorry I haven't been on in a while but I went back to work last week.  It was very exhausting and I was beat at the end of each day.  I did take naps each afternoon.  Towards the end of the week, I managed to start getting in my required amounts of liquids and protein.  I assume my stomach is settling in and the swelling is going down. The super-good news is that yesterday, 3 Aug 07, I had my first follow-up appt with my PA.  When I weighed in, I was completely flaberghasted.  I had already lost 20 on my pre-surgery diet but learned that I had lost an additional 18 lbs since the surgery.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised since I'm still on liquids but it certainly is a nice feeling.  A total of 38 lbs is nothing to sneeze at.

I've been very good about walking each evening.  I'm up to about 1.25 miles now and getting faster each time too.   My only problem is that every time I watch TV, I see tons of food commercials.  I would kill for a bite (or two) of pizza.  This is obviously a mental issue so I'll have to deal with thaat.  However, I do believe there is a time a place for pizza and it will eventually get here.  I can wait. I feel super good, my energy is up and my spirits are on cloud 9. --Eric

That's great - 38 pounds is is a typical pre-schooler!!!  What an amazing way to great your 1st follow-up appointment! I'm sure the cravings must be tough but you are obviously doing a great job!

I plan on keeping them coming.   Now, I think I need a new picture.  I've already lost about two chins so my avatar is no longer accurate.  Pre-op, my neck was 18.75" and, as of yesterday, it was only 18."  Besides, I haven't had the beard in a long time.

Eric, that's great news! I can't believe you've gone back to work -- take it easy.  I too have lost 17 lbs since our "rebirth" day!  Cheers to you, and keep up the walking, Nancy

Excellant!!! You will feel stringer and bettr every day. I'm sure it is hard to fight those head cravings, but don't risk it. dumping is no fun whether by eating something on purpose or because you didn't know your pouch would revolt. Stop looking for that pre-schooler. That one needs to take the bus on home- the home far far away!!! Keep up the good work.
