Just Checking In To Say Hi!
I haven't been on in awhile, and just wanted to stop in to say hi.
I had my second weigh in last week, and my weighed stayed exactly the same. I had my weigh in 2 days after getting back from a 2 week vacation in Myrtle Beach, so I'm just happy I didn't gain. I am a little frustrated though because I STILL haven't met with Sloan yet, and I really don't know what I should be doing during my 6 month diet. I took my food journal in and it was looked at by the nurse that weighed me, but nothing was said whether I was doing anything wrong or right. So I don't know if I'm on the right track or not.
I also had my endoscopy yesterday, and Dr Moen said all looks good there, so that is one test under my belt. Only 5 more to go.
I have a quick question...for the supervised diet, do they consider the 1st weigh-in at the initial visit as the first month, or is it the 2nd weigh-in that is the first month?

Wow, two weeks in MB .. I bet that was fun!!! I've only ever been to Myrtle Beach twice, once the November before my WLS and the second time the November after WLS. I think it would be fun to see MB during the summer season. It was nice when we were there both times during Thanksgiving week, but summer would be nice too.
I'm not sure about the supervised diet .. didn't have to do that. But no matter how the months are counted you are on your way and the time is going to FLY by.

Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!

It is great in the summer, but I've found the best time to go is September. The kids are back in school so it's not as crowded, and the temps are great.
The time is flying by so far, partly because I've been busy with vacation and getting my son ready to go back to school, and partly because I work shift work, so I lose all track of time anyway. This is one time I'm gladd to be on shiftwork.
Thanks Gail. On my first visit, they screwed up the schedule, so I didn't see her then...Kathy fille in for her. Then when they were scheduling my appointment for my second visit, they couldn't get my schedule to coincide with her schedule due to both of our vacations, so they changed me from group to individual so that I could get it scheduled within the timeframe needed for my insurance. Well, when I got there for my appointment, I was told she had taken off, so let's hope she's there for the next appointment, if she's not, I'm gonna have to have words with someone.

The day of your consultation visit is considered your first weigh in.
I don't understand what is going on over there because I saw Sloan one on one each time I went.
Basically what she told me to do is stop all carbonated drinks, sugar Iced tea, eat well balanced meals that are smaller in portion. I used splenda and I would drink one protein drink a day.
Good luck with all the rest of your exams. Keep focused and if the office keeps messing up I suggest you talk to Dr. Von Rueden himself or his wife.
