Good Morning Everybody!

Good Morning Everybody! So how is everyone on this Happy Hump Day?  Seems like it's going to be beautiful (but hot) today...oh well, better than 30 degrees and snowing if I have to go out in it!  hehehe How goes the eating, protein, supplements, fluids and exercise?  I'm doing great on all fronts but the big "E".  I haven't had a chance to get on the torture machine (my affectionate pet nickname for my elliptical trainer), but I'm hopeful that tonight may be my night.  I want to get back in the groove with structured exercise slowly.  My body is recovering from the LBL slowly but surely, but I don't want to pu**** with weight lifting as of yet.  I can't go wrong with the cardio/the elliptical.   Lately I've been struggling with fighting the urge to "munch" at night.  I don't want to get into this habit.  I went to bed "hungry" last night.  At least that's what my brain was saying.  Maybe I was, but I'm determined that I'm going to lose another 20-25lbs!  When I saw my surgeon last week for my 2 year checkup, he was very, very pleased with my progress.  He kind of warned me about "rebounding" and gaining weight.  I said, that is not a problem for me.  I've been basically maintaining for the last year (okay, so I actually lost 17lbs in the past year).  I told him that I allow myself 5-6lbs and then I really, really watch what I eat so that those 5-6lbs come off because I was never going back to where I came from.  I made up my mind that I took a one-way bus ticket out of morbid-obesityville. Well, work is calling and there's plenty of it to do so I better get off of here. Have a wonderful day!

Take Care,
Terry

Good morning Terry, 35 minute cardio workout this morning.   30 minutes on the treadmill - 3.0 mph @ 8% incline, the 5 minute cool down - 2.6 mph no incline. The dang scale is still 'stuck'.  I guess I should be grateful it's not UP, but I would really like to see some downward movement. Hugs, Mo

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... Good Morning Terry,  Hump Day is good - Going for 3-week check up today - Hopefully he will be pleased.. He should be 20 lbs in 22 days - I would say thats really good.   30 degrees wouldn't feel bad right now.. My motto - you can always get warm but there is only so much clothing to take off to get cool LOL!  Supplements are tough for me - can't get with them too much so have depended on the "natural" protein.. - Maybe it was a full moon last night cause I wanted to munch too - but haven't even attemtped it yet.. -  Did an extra 30 minutes of walking last night for a total of almost an hour - so feel very good today...

Your story is incredible !! - I learned through a seminar (not about wl) that if we get @ a "stuck point" , take a look @ what you are doing - and change or add or delete something from it...

This applies for gaining weight and not loosing any - look @ the food you have consumed, the exercise you are taking in - then add or delete something from it.. -

Hope this helps for all..

In my mind - sure the cravings are there but I say to myself - NOPE - Don't do it.. It's a guilty thing I think !!!  Keep in touch Sincerely, Barb

Hi Barb, Thanks for the advice!   Actually, I am almost 3 1/2 years post op and maintaining pretty much after having 're-gained' about 15 pounds .   I've got a whole list of food issues (with specific foods/density/etc) and I know without a doubt that the quality of some of my food choices is not the best because I tend to eat that which does not make me sick. The best thing I can say for myself is that my pouch is still just as finicky now as it was 3 years ago.   I cannot consume quantities of food, so I'll take what I've been dealt and make the best of it!! Hugs, Mo

P.S.  I'm sure the Dr is going to be very happy with your progress

Good morning everyone, I did two miles on the treadmill. Yeah me. I need to make it a regular thing. Two days in a row, now. I have to go for a KUB x-ray for my kidney today and the urologist tomorrow to see if the lithotripsy did anything to my kidney stone.  I'm off to the store for some healthy food and a few other errands. Try to stay cool and have a great day.

Hey Wanda, Good luck with the urologist!   I go back on the 31st for another KUB and follow up (they weren't able to see much when I went on the 20th).   I will probably be scheduled for a 24 hour urine test and some bloodwork then too.   Now that the stent has been removed I feel so much better anyway even if I do still have fragments that may need to pass. Hugs, Mo
