Need your help - finding a female PCP

Hi all. Haven't posted to this board in awhile. I've been lurking though. Good to keep up with the changes in everyone's lives. My wife has gotten to the point where she is considering WLS, but wants to find a new PCP. The requirements are that this person should be a woman, located in the Baltimore metro region, and be supportive of the surgery. Hey Daniel - Wow!!!  Looking good!!!  Yep, lots of changes since you were last here!!!  In fact, I am no longer a ? on my avatar, thanks to Heather Modispaw!!

Tell your wife she has our full support (I'm sure she already knows she has yours!)  Making the decision to even think about wls is a big one. I see Mary Ellen Groff, CRNP, at Metropolitan Medical Associates in Honeygo Towne Centre (in White Marsh).  It's located, strangely enough, next to Sweet Fixations candy shop!!!!!!!  Anyway, Mary Ellen has been extremely supportive of my decision to have the surgery and very supportive of my results thus far.  I think your wife will be pleased with her.  The office number is 410-256-5858. Hi Dan!  LONG TIME!  Not sure where you are in Baltimore, but I have a wonderful PCP.  Her name is Dr. Deborah Gallo and she is at:  6730 HOLABIRD AVE DUNDALK, MD 21222 410.288.6226 Her office is right across from Squires.  I live in Rosedale and the little commute to her office is well worth it.  She looks like an old hippy, but she is VERY intelligent and I trust her 100%.  She backed my decision for surgery and wrote a letter in support for my approval.

I use Felicia Garcia, M.D. at the University of Maryland Shipley's Choice location.  She is not opposed to WLS -- one of the nurses there had an RNY -- and wrote a nice referral letter to my surgeon.  Actually, Mark Kligman, M.D. shares space with her.

I see Karen Shannon who is with Jeffrey Atkinson's office in the Glen Burnie / Pasadena area.  She is on Ritchie Highway next to Cheeseburger in Paradise, just south of Rt. 100.  I absolutely swear by her.  She was my best friend through the entire process and is still one of my greatest supporters.  She is still pretty much one of my best friends.
