I am a new member as well. I was told that this was a good website and boy was everyone right; I notice people who have used the surgeon that I am hoping to use or his partner and people who are in my area. I want to have the gastric bypass surgery; I have to go to an appointment on 8/29 and then the Dr's office will submit my claim to see if my insurance will cover it.  Was the surgery painful and how long are you actually off of work?

Good Morning -  Welcome on being a new member. This is a WONDERFUL website ! - It's good to see a lot of persons had the same surgeon.. - Having the GB surgery is the bes thing I have ever done.. - Good luck with the insurance company - hopefully you won't have any problems - Just remember to document everything they (the insurance co) told you , the date, time you called and who you spoke with.. - I wouldn't say it was painful - uncomfortable for a few days but as I shared with others , for me , the more I move around the better I felt/feel. Remember - walk , walk, walk.... I took off for two weeks.. Keep me posted on your journey - anything you want to know, I will try to share.. Barb
