New Maryland Member saying Hi
Hi Kim, Surgery went great - little rough in the beginning but each day gets better. The best advice I can offer is to take it one day @ a time.. Don't get discourged if you don't loose weight every single day. Each day may be different. I can honestly say that each week gets better and better, not just physically but mentally too ! - One thing I did learn is that if you are "sore" after surgery the best thing to do is to move around, walk, walk, walk. Honestly, I had such a great faculty @ the hospital with an awesome surgeon. I literally walked 20 minutes after I was taken to my room. Remember this is the healthiest decision that you have made... and with this fine group of Marylanders ;-) you will have all the support you need. Thinking good thoughts for you... - Let me know when you get your date. Sincerely Barb
Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!
Hugs right back @ ya Mo ! - Thank you for the welcome - I look forward to seeing less of me too... - I appreciate all the support this far. I am fortunate that I work very close in proximity to my surgeon (actually down the hall) so I do get to see him and his staff very frequently. I stopped in yesterday just to see if they new about this fantastic website. My nutrionist kind laughing yelled at me and said if you would have read every single piece of literature I gave you, you would have seen we encourage our patients to join this website.. - I tried to read everything but my post-op instruction booklet consisted of 50 pages - so takes a while...
Have my 3-week check up today and not worried at all. What a great feeling..
