Ice Cream

Eric, Now I eat regular ice cream (when I do eat it) and I haven't had a problem with it.  Early on, after my surgery, when I ate ice cream (it was rare to be honest), I got the "no sugar added" rather than the lowfat.  I figured that I needed some amount of fat in my diet and at that point sugar was more of an enemy than fat.  I like the Blue Bunny and Edy's brands the best. Eric, the answer to that would be NONE.  Protein shakes are not literally typical "shakes".  Didn't your doc give you a packet of recipes, foods, etc?  I used chocolate protein powder, skim milk, and if I wanted it thicker I blended up with some ice.  Other than that it was just usually the milk and powder.  I guess if you HAVE to have it, go with ice milk rather than ice cream.

Wow, I guess I'll stay away from the ice cream.   I've haven't really used it all that much as making my shakes with milk seems to be working just fine.   Thanks for all the replies!! --Eric
