First let me thank everybody for all the messages.  You are all so wonderful and I look forward to logging on to read everybody's posts. I'm feeling much better than I did when I posted two days ago.  I've been trying to keep busy.  I went out for a haircut two days ago, went for an eye appointment yesterday (That one really wore me out!!) and literally just got finished walking around the block this morning.  I am a bit tired from the walk but am sipping my Isopure.  I will be taking another walk tomorrow.  Heck, if I get a wild hair you-know-where, maybe I'll take another walk this evening when the temp drops. I'm still a bit concerned that I'm not getting the required amount of liquids or protein each day since I've been home but you guys seem to think this is okay.  I'm not feeling down and out in terms of energy so I'm thinking I'm still okay for now.   I did try some new foods (drinks?) yesterday.  I had about 1 oz of SF Jello and a SF popsicle!!!  I'm not much of a Jello eater but OMG did it taste good.  The popsicle was completely an awesome treat.... It was cherry.  I think it tasted so good because it was cold.  I plan to have more jello and another popsicle or two today. Tomorrow, I can move on to full liquids.  I'm so excited because I love drinking milk!!  I can't wait to have some milk with a scoop of vanilla Unjury.  I would love to cheat and have a little this evening before I go to bed but there's something that just feels wrong about that.  I pride myself on playing by the rules so I'll wait until tomorrow morning. That's all for now.  I'll post again tomorrow or Monday.  I don't want to bore you too much with what's happening.

Congratulations Eric!  The very first month is a doozy with feeling tired and drained after doing some small stuff but that will go away and you feel great. The S/F popsicles were my life saver and it really helped me ealry out from surgery. I would definitely wait on the milk and unjury and treat yourself in the morning.  I remember when I started using milk again after surgery it made me realy gassy and I had some diarrhea. I took a lot of gas x to help me out. I hope you continue to feel great and keep us posted on your progress. It will never bore us!! Have a wonderful day!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

I'm finding that I am really gassy now as it is.  I've also already had a little diarrhea too.  Can it get worse?  I hope not but suppose only time will tell.  I really like my milk so I was thinking I'd probably be able to get more protein into me with something like milk than the Isopure.   I'm having another popsicle as I type this!!

Hi Eric - I'm so glad you're doing well.  Every day will bring some improvement.  The day after I was released from the hospital, I was walking around Target and went to the library.  The next day I was at the mall, and the day after, I was at the movies!!!  It was such a relief to be out walking, knowing that I was doing my body and my mind good!  In fact, my Mom walked with me all the time and ended up losing 11 pounds by the time I went back to work.

Yep, you're doing just fine with the liquids.  If it makes you feel any better, write down how many ounces you're getting in and let your doc see it; I'm sure it's fine, just keep plugging away!!  Sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk!!!  Oh, yeah, and rest when your body says - right now, it's saying, "WTH????!!!" Glad to hear of your progress so far, keep us posted!! Tia

I can tell how anxious you are to ensure your spot on the losing side is a permanent one. You are doing so well. It isn't easy to get in all of your fluids right now. As you heal, you will be able to sip more and more. I found I loved popscicles also. They were as if someone had treated me to the most delicious delicacy right after surgery. They also help to break the monotony of drinking fluids.  I even keep some in the freezer at work so I can have one once in awhile there. Puddings, Carnation instant breakfast, and soups were my diet for a long time. I also get the milk that is for lactose intolerant people. That does help as we now have re-engineered stomachs. Gas seems to be a necessary evil of this surgery. I find it help me talk more little walks. :)  Keep uyp the good work!!!

Thanks to all again!!  I actually had two walks yesterday for a total of 0.8 miles.  Already this morning, I had a 0.6 mile walk and will repeat it again this evening.  I think I'm okay in that dept. I think it was Aime that mentioned reegineered stomachs and the lactose issue.  I had the VBG w/sleeve, not the RNY.  I'm hoping there won't be an intolerance issue.  I guess only time will tell. You guys are great!!
