Happy Friday Eve !!

Good morning all Hope everyone is staying cool!   I couldn't believe it was already 75 and muggy when I went out to the gym at 4:45 a.m.

Speaking of the gym ... I think the 4:15 idea is NOT working!   I was ok with 4:30 but pushing the alarm back that 15 minutes is just not going to happen for me.  I cannot get out of bed .. so I think maybe I'll move it back to 4:30 and then maybe trick myself by setting the clock 5 minutes fast.   That will build a little cushion into my work out time. I did two rounds on the total body circuit this morning then jumped on the cross ramp for 7 to 8 minutes.  I was sooo tempted not to go at all this morning (and that was even AFTER I got out of bed), but once I got there I was fine and of course, I always feel better all day after I've worked out. We are having a 'picnic' farewell lunch for one of our staff tomorrow and I found a very interesting recipe to try (I'm not much on fixing things .. I'm the make a donation or buy the paper goods type !!!) ... it's a Not So Potato Salad salad .. on the idea of the 'fake' mashed potatoes (cauliflower) that Ruby tuesdays has.   It's made from frozen cauliflower florets and peas/carrots.   So tonight I'm going to be immersed in trying to follow the directions to get this salad made (I did plan ahead and went to the store last night and bought all the things I needed for it ...) Our front yard still looks like mayhem with the downed trees.   Some of the pieces that have been cut are too much for Mr Mo to lift into the truck to move to the side of the garage, so they are just going to stay where they are until he rents the splitter then they will get split in the yard and we will move it that way.   We are going to be set for wood for YEARS !!!  just from the trees from our yard and he's taken wood from the neighbors too!!! Ok, time to get the coffee going and dive into the day.  Have a wonderful Thursday. Hugs, Mo

Lucky you!!!   My job really doesn't lend itself to 10 hour days, I'm too 'customer'/public oriented, so I'm a 5 day a week employee.   I did have last Friday off though and I could get used to that in a BIG hurry!!!   Now IF I could get someone to give me 40 hours pay for 4 8 hour days and give me EVERY Friday I'd be a happy camper! Enjoy your weekend. Hugs, Mo

Well right now it truly is Friday's eve Saturday we are off to Philly to visit the in-laws.  It's usually a great trip.  WE told her we wanted Italian Hoagies and she has gone out and purchased all the fixins already.  Well --they'll be eating them -- the proper way -- with Bread!  I'll just eat a little meat and have a Protein fruit drink and do homework.

We are having a 'theme' farewell lunch at the office tomorrow for a gal who is retiring on Tuesday.   It's a picnic.  I know there's going to be darn little that will agree with me to eat.  I just finished making a 'Not So Potato Salad' salad!   All fixed up it REALLY does look like potato salad, but it's cauliflower ..  the dressing was pretty yummy.  I am not so adventurous at making things so this was a big deal for me!   Hope it goes over well, or I'll be eating cauliflower salad for days Enjoy your trip to Philly.   Drive safe! Hugs, Mo

Let us know how it tates. Also- I'd be curious if it has that after effect that cauliflower is known to cause. After my broccoli disaster, I'm hesitant to eat anything that can cause gas.

Hi Aime, I'll definitely let you know how it is.   I had a tiny taste last night and the dressing was very yummy.   The recipe calls for 2 one pound bags of cauliflower florets and you cook/nuke them for 25 minutes so they are fairly well cooked.    I always had very serious problems pre-op with raw broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, squash, etc.   My digestive track did not break them down (there's a name for what kind of veggies they are and I don't remember it) and even a few bites would put me in excrutiating pain .. yet I had no problem with the same veggies if they were well cooked. Hugs, Mo P.S.   if the recipe is a success, I'll post the link to it on the board
