Looking for a Lap Band surgeon in Maryland

Must be a Center of Excellence surgeon that will do a lap band on a diabetic patient.  Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks for any help.  Joanna

I just emailed him and asked if he did gastric band on diabetic patients.  I am hoping he will see me.  I should have gone to him in the first place.  I did not request a specific surgeon when I made my appointment at Bayview, and was given another doctor.  The doctor I was given said she wouldn't give me the lap band because she does not do lap band on diabetic patients.  She wanted me to consider the RNY.  I specifically told the receptionist at the time I made the appointment that I wanted lap band, and only lap band.   I hope I can be seen by the other doctor.

Dr. Averbach and Dr. Singh perform lap band surgery at the St. Agnes Center of Excellence.  While I did not have lap-band, Dr. Averbach did my RNY and I am very pleased.

The program at Sinai Hospital (Lifebridgehealth.com) is a Center of Excellence.  Dr. Li does lap-band.
