On The Bus

This past Saturday I took a one day bus trip to Atlantic City.  The last time I was on a bus trip was August of last year from Baltimore to Foxwood Connecticut with a surgically repaired thumb in a sling and on ice.  The seats on that bus where very comfortable with a lot of leg room so at that time the ride was comfortable. This particular ride though was INCREDIBLE.  Why?  I COULD WALK DOWN THE ISLE IN THE BUS WITHOUT TURNING SIDEWAYS -- :jump:  How cool was that!  My left knee still aches though from sitting for long periods of time so as I loose the weight and strengthen my knees; hopefully that will eventually go away. Today people at church where saying WOW you've lost so much weight.  While in the ladies room, I had an opportunity to look in the full length mirror that runs along the wall and said WOW -- that's the NaDine people are seeing now -- WOW!

I laughed, because being a school bus driver, I am reminded every work day just how far I've come.  Being able to zoom down the bus aisle is very eye-opening.  Life is good!!  Keep up the good work. TraciL

Hey NaDine! That is awesome!   Even 3 plus years post op I sometimes am amazed/wowed at the things I sort of just take for granted now and remember how it was 100 plus pounds ago.   I was at an outside event on Saturday evening sitting in the top (row 30) of the bleacher seats.  Not only did I 'climb' over the folks several times during the evening to get to the aisle but I bounded up and down the steps without even stopping! You've come a long way and have yet a whole journey yet to go. Best wishes as the journey continues. Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Nadine - Your accomplishment brought tears to my eyes, because I went through the same thing about 4 months after my surgery on the bus to New York!  It was so great to also be able to fit in the bus bathroom!  Ever try holding it for 4 hours on a bus!!!! Keep up the good work, Tia
