Federal BC/BS--How much for surgery???

Okay, OH Family, I am trying to keep a positive attitude but bad things keep happening .  My vehicle has broken down and its goig to cost upwards of $2500 to fix it.  this is cutting into my surgery fund big time.  I have Federal Blue Cross/Blue Shield and I am having surgery at GBMC.  What was the bottom line that you had to pay for your surgery???

0- nothing- not a cent. I did have to pay the $500 program fee prior to surgery!

Well, I have Blue Choice, the hmo, and I had to pay less than $150 in co-pays for the pre-op testings.  As for the surgery, nothing at all.  My ex-SIL had the same insurance as you, and likewise, she paid nothing, too. I was enrolled in DVR's program before the program fee took effect, but even if I'd had to pay that, it would've been worth it.  Have you talked to DVR's insurance people?  They should be able to give you an approximate dollar amount and hopefully, a little peace of mind. I had BCBS PPO and I paid $2000.00 out of pocket and $300 program fee which had recently went up to $500.  I also had surgery at GBMC and I have to tell you that the cost was the best investment I have ever made in my life!!  Best of luck to you!!! Stephanie
