Need help finding

Hi. I have to have a bone density study. The hospital I work at  has the equipment but the weight limit is 300 pounds. Did any of you have this issue and if so, where did you go to have the test done. Thanks. Jo

When I had mine done, I weighed 380, so I know there's equipment out there that can do it.  Actually, they did mine on my wrist, I guess like an x-ray.  I went to Advanced Radiology near Franklin Square Hospital in eastern Baltimore County, which is NOT near Cumberland, unfortunately!!  However, they have lots of offices, so maybe you could call them. i had a bone density done at Shady Grove xray Facility in Germantown.   It was a couple years ago but i would have been awfully close to 300 then. No weight limit was ever mentioned. Is there a specific reason they're testing you?

I thought WMHC had open type systems. I thought my mother had an open MRI there. I haven't had a bone density test so far so I can't speak about the equipment. Best of luck!

Advance radiology should be able to help you out -- I was just there today for my pre-op chest xray and cat scan and I was chatting with the techs etc about the equipment. Give em a call, they're all over, don't know about near you though. HUGS< N

I was told nowhere could do it for me too ,however I was about 400lbs. My top weight was 430 and I was between 385 and 430 each time the Dr tried to get one done. I just had mine done after the surgery. I was not able to fit in any cat scan or MRI machines either before surgery. One problem they said was even if  I fit the machine couldn't read through all the fat. Plus I was to heavy for the table and didn't fit. But I have had all the tests done now and it feels great. I am happy to hear advanced is doing it. When my Drs and cardiologists called all around Washington DC , Baltimore,Md. and Annapolis,Md. they all told me No.  Good luck. Love Laurie
