Hi all..  I'm scheduled for my lower body lift next Friday.   I'm getting really scared!!!!  I'm down 120 pounds so far.  I've remained at my current wait for about 6 months now. I'll let everyone know of my progress after surgery. Take care Theresa

Hi Theresa, Best of luck to you, how exciting! Please remember to let us know all the details about your surgeon, etc. Have you had any other PS done yet or is this the first step? I know one PS high on my list will be my arms. They are already drooping, but I'm only a couple of months out. I know I have to wait at least a year. Anyway, I hope you have a safe and speedy recovery! ~~ Trish

Hi Theresa, I was more nervous for my LBL than my LAP RNY.  I just had the LBL on 5/23 and I'm recuperating nicely.  I go back to work on Monday 7/23.  It has been more difficult recovering from this than the RNY, but it's well worth it.  For the first time I can remember, I have a flat stomach!  I can wear short tshirts and even tuck them in my jeans (without worrying about my belly sticking out)!  Although it was tougher than the LAP RNY, I would do this again in a heartbeat too!  I am so pleased with the results that I am considering moving the upper body work to this coming October rather than waiting until next year.   Just be good to yourself and don't push yourself too hard, too soon.  Recovery is a process and it does take awhile. Take Care,

I did have the time, but I also needed the time.  I haven't had any major complications or anything other than needing to have fluid aspirated between weeks 3-6.  My surgeon advised before the surgery that it would be 6-8 weeks for recuperating.  She said I would feel like I got hit by a truck (and I did have that feeling for the first 7-10 days).  I have heard doctors say this surgery is major (8 or 9 out of 10) and after going through it, I believe it.  Even with saying that, I would do this again in a heartbeat because the change is so amazing.   My surgeon is Dr. Kerri Owens, she's in Catonsville.  She's great!  HTH

Theresa, I pray you will have a speedy recovery.  How exciting.  This part of the journey is truly the icing on the cake, don't you think?  I am so happy for you.  As you know, I'll be joining you in a few weeks.  You have done a great job and I am sure you will continue to do so.  Denise (had the first part of her plastics two months ago) said that a really good suggestion from her doc was to increase your protein intake prior to and following surgery for faster healing.  As we all know, protein is good for you so this will be a plus for you if you do increase your protein.  I know I will.   Hugs, Robin
