Hello, I just got signed on and don't have pic yet to post. I'm 320 lbs and would like to lose  1/2 of myself !   I don't have my surgery date yet. I'm just starting to schedule all 10 tests that Dr. has ordered.  I'm excited, but nervous about having the gastric bypass.  I'm a bit snack and sugar eater. Is it true that you just don't feel hunry most of the time?
 Blessings to all of you,

Kim!! Welcome to the Maryland board!   You've come to the right place to meet some of the most supportive and fun folks on all of OH.   We have a great group that helps each other out both on line and offline as well.   Best wishes as your WLS journey continues. Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Hi Kim welcome aboard! I had surgery 13days ago with Dr. Moen  and what I have found I don't have  that starved feeling but a do feel that little nudge that says I'm hungry.  I'm excited for you as well for making a life changing decision.

Welcome Kim!!! I had my surgery 10/12/06 with DVR. This is the most amazing journey ever. I started at 252 and am at 169 now. Hunger does reappear, but it disappears so quickly. A few bites of food and you are finished.

welcome to the Maryland board and the DVR family!  I am getting ready to be a year out and I have lost almost 160 pounds...but I remember being nervous a year ago too.  I didn't feel true hunger till almost 6 months out of surgery...during that 6 months, I experienced mental hunger everyday.  Once you overcome that, then you will truely know what real hunger is!!!  Good luck with your journey and again, WELCOME!!
