if so, what surgeon have you selected?  I'm working through that process right now and trying to decide how far to travel etc.  Someone had told me that Hopkins Bayview was not recommended though I am unsure of why.  Anyone have any ideas on that one?

I had surgery with Dr Schweitzer at Johns Hopkins Bayview and I think that both he and the program at Bayview are one of the finest in the area. His expertise and experience speaks for itself. Johns Hopkins Bayview is a wonderful hospital and they have a great Bariatric program. I don't really know why someone would have told you otherwise, unless they personally had a bad experience there. Everyone that I know of that has used Bayview has nothing but good to say about their experience with the Hospital and the staff there.  Carol

I had Dr. Schweitzer out of Bayview, and believe me, I researched for many years before making my final decision. I know I made the right one! The Dr. and hospital are second to none. In fact, Bayview is one of the few hospitals nationwide that has been deemed a Center of Excellence. Dr. Schweitzer has performed surgery on people from across the country. I met one lady who came from Texas to have her surgery done by him. There are some people on the boards here from Cumberland and other areas farther than yours who are going to Bayview. I strongly suggest you check in to Bayview and their Barriatric Center. The support groups are awesome as well. They are twice a month, and for pre ops, post ops, friends, family, or anyone interested in knowing more about the program, etc. Good luck in your search and let me know if I can be of any help to you. ~~ Trish

Welcome to the Maryland board   I live in Williamsport. Is great to know of others close by. When I started my journey I didn't know of anyone near me, but have found a few since my surgery. Personally I'm not familar with Bayview. My surgery was at St. Agnes Hospital. Dr. Kuldeep Singh was my surgeon. I have nothing but glowing words for both my surgeon and the hospital.  Luckily my surgery was without complications. I recovered quickly and has been a wonderful journey since then with each day bringing more energy and milestones  You came to the right place, I am sure many kind give you useful information to help you in your journey. These are a great group of people. Feel free to pm me anytime if I can help in anyway with your journey or if you need someone to talk to. Take care and have a wonderful day. Hugs.. Cherryl

The session is at Bayview?  Where and what time?  I haven't yet had a consult with the doc, so does that matter?
