Hi All.. UPDATE!!!

Well, I haven't been on for quite a while.  Honestly, it was too depressing for me to see everyone else losing, and to know I went through all of this pain for basically nothing at this point.  I have, however, met with my doctor, and talked to him on the phone on several occassions.  I have also called a few lawyers, and some other doctors.  What I have found is this: - It is a rare complication... but it does happen - My case was extremely rare, because my ENTIRE staple line was disrupted-- most people that have this complication have a partial disruption - It is not necessarily a medical malpractice case, because it was more of a mechanical error - Other doctors would want me to go through the whole process from beginning to end.. including all testing and seminars, etc... AGAIN.  (And that could mean possible denial from insurance without proper explanation from my dr as to what happened) What I am going to do is this.. let him operate again, and pray that all works out well.  I don't have any leave to use at work... and won't have but about 2 weeks of leave saved up by the time I have the surgery.  The new date will be in August (probably 8/1).  I will probably have to go back to work sooner than I did the first time, but I guess since I have a desk job, it shouldn't be too bad. I thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.. Lord knows I needed them. Kelly G.

Kelly, Best wishes for an uneventful re-surgery and a speedy recovery!   It is possible to go back to work in two weeks.   I had open RNY and was back to work in 2 weeks to a desk job. Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Best of Luck and we will all be thinking of you.  You'll do great and going back to work won't be a problem.  I was back in two weeks to my desk job and did great.   Please don't stay away from here, we are your friends and are here to support you not depress you.   Anyway in a few months you will be speeding past us like a bullet.   You hit a road block is all and remember he doesn't give us anything he doesn't think we can't handle. (think I might have worded that wrong) anyway you get the jist.   In other words he closes a door but opens a window..... yea that works.   Please keep us posted. MargieB

Hi Kelly, It is so good to hear from you.  Sounds like you have done a good deal of investigating and asking questions.  This is a good thing.  I am glad that your doctor has worked out a plan for you to have the surgery done again and correct this problem.  I will continue to pray for you, especially that this time around you will have no complications and that your pain will be minimal.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to us when you need support and (((((hugs)))))!   Robin
