NEW TO AREA
Hello all
I am relocating to Silver Spring, Md from Houston, Tx in the next month or so and I am going to need someone there to do my fills. Does anyone know of a Dr that takes on new patients that they did not do the surgery for. I will probably be a cash patient too until I get familiar with my benefits at new job. I have had my band since 11/14/06 and I love it. I just want to make sure that I have a Dr there before I move. I have had some trouble with getting locked up and I wouldn't want that to happen and not have anyone to go see. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome (in advance) to Maryland. I don't have any experience with doctors in the Silver Spring area but I am sure there are others who will have some suggestions for you. Have you considered asking your WLS doc in Houston for a referral to someone in the DC area? That might be a good way to go.

OK ... went to see my previous PCP yesterday (she's still my gyno though) and she recommended Dr Gary Harrington from Holy Cross. He does both Lap-band and Rny. She has gone over to the hospital personally and met with him and was impressed with his work and the program. She knows both Dr Greene and Dr. Harrington from the various seminar interests that all three of them share.
Of course she was marvelling at Dr. S's lovely handiwork during my exam too.... She works out at the same gym as me and has seen my progress and thinks it's great.
Thank you all for the information. I did check with my Dr and he had no referral. He did say that alot of people fly in to see him from other states. I won't be one of those. The thought of being that far away from my Dr if something happens is just too scary for me. Rockville is very close though and I will be in Maryland friday for a week to do some more job hunting and I will look up Dr Greene. Thaks again
