Just Saying "Hey"

Hey Everybody! How is everyone today?  Well it's been 5 weeks since my LBL.  I'm actually able to sit in front of the computer without worrying about pain.  I do still have some discomfort at times and I have a constant pins & needles feeling with the nerves regenerating, but overall it's not bad.  I have been having to go back to the Dr. every 3 or 4 days to have her drain excess fluid that has been building up.  This recuperation has been everything I thought it would be.  I knew it would be ALOT tougher than recuperating from LAP RNY.  That being said, for the FIRST TIME in my life (that I can remember), I have a flat abdomen.   I would do all this again in a heartbeat.   I know I haven't been posting much, but I have been reading/lurking the board.  Up until here recently I just couldn't sit at the computer for any length of time.  It looks like I'll get the clearance to go back to work at 8 weeks or so, so I should be back to work on or about the 23rd of July.    For those that are new , "Welcome".  You'll find lots of support here on this board from alot of loving, caring people.  If you're just beginning this process and you feel discouraged, don't give up...do what you have to do in order to have the surgery (whether it's LAP BAND or RNY).  My life has changed so much in the last two years since my RNY.  I have changed physically and emotionally.  I'm no longer  down and I am more like I used to be before I let morbid obesity take the "life" out of my life.   For those that have been here awhile like me and all those in between - keep the faith and remember why you had WLS to begin with. Have a Wonderful Day!

Take Care,
Terry

I am so glad you are feeling much better. It is so hard to be trapped by a recuperating body. At least there is a light at the end of that tunnel. I can't wait to see your flat belly. aime

Hi Terry. It's great to hear from you.  I am glad you are feeling better.  I love hearing that you would do this again.  I hope that next week they will give me a date for my LBL.  We shall see.  I just want a date...(mini trantrum here)   LOL I hope these next few weeks before you return to work will feel more like a vacation instead of recovery!  Have a great day. Hey Cira :-) McMom is doing well.  She'll be ready to have her permanent implants put in when our surgeon gets back from maternity leave.   McMop is cute as a button and has adjusted well to being here at my house (probably even better than my sister..hehehe) McSweetie is wonderful and we're doing great!  We are like two peas in a pod.  It's actually been kind of a challenging time here lately.   Just as I was starting to get around a little more he found out that his retina had detached and he had to have eye surgery last week.  He's not too happy about having to be in a face down position for at least two weeks (but possibly as long as 6 weeks) - but like he said, he's got to do what he's got to do.   I may get a picture soon and if so, I'll change my avatar.  But then again, maybe you'll see me before I can get that done!

Take Care,
Terry
