G&M Crabcakes
Does anyone have an idea as to how to count them? They are an 8 oz crab cake -- I ate between 1/3 and 1/2 for lunch yesterday and finished it for lunch today. It is really mostly crab - but how do I count the filler (I can't figure out what it is so I don't know how high in fat it is) But wow was it good!!!
You mean I won't have to give up G&M? We were there last weekend and I was secretly thinking it might be my last taste of Maryland's best crab cake....Waaaaaay kewl!! I was told they use just enough water and bread crumbs to hold the crab together under the broiler. No idea what that translates to in measurement.
Mark, who will now turn the can of Old Bay in the cupboard to face forward again.
Mark,
Fish and seafood are great protein sources. And I am lucky in that I tolerate shrimp and crab meat very well! This was my first attempt at G&M since surgery and it worked out well! But I will say , they are not as good micorwaved the next day! I recommend splitting one with someone before trying to eat one over a few days. They are way too good the first time around to be disappointed in a 're-heat'! :)
My crabcake recipe calls for 1lb of crab and have 2 slices of bread pulverized into tiny crumbs. My recipe also calls for 1 egg (there's probably egg in just about all crabcakes because it's a good binder) and 2 T mayo. Also mustard, parsley, and Old Bay, but those hardly count. The recipe makes 8 crabcakes. Extrapolate from there....
