The Cow...

Had a good night. We looked at a blank sun (absolutely no activity****il it went behind the trees around 7:20 or so. Then we looked at the moon until Saturn came out around 9:15 or so. Then it was Saturn/Venus/Moon/Jupiter for the rest of the night. I would switch between planets and the moon about every 10 minutes. We also got to see the space shuttle and International Space Station, flying in formation (the shuttle un docked from the station earlier in the day) around 9:20 or so. We also got to see the sun flare off of an Iridium Sattelite about 9:30. Talked to about 65 kids and roughly the same number of teens and adults. I was supposed to pack up around 10 but it was much closer to 11:15 before I finally got out of there. I will be back on Saturday night, but the weather is not looking quite so good. Thanks,
Dave

Hi Darla, Sorry about that...I missed you post on Saturday. I will be back at the Cow on Saturday July 7th and then later in the month. The Cow is in Reisterstown. It is on Main Street right across from Franklin Middle School. If you directions from a specific location, send me a private message and I will get you there.
Since you could not find the older posts, the magic here is not really the telescope but the Sugar Free/Fat Free frozen yogurt. A kids sized cup has no sugar and no fat and about 45 calories. It is a nice treat! Thanks,
Dave
