Hello and welcome, My doctor told me he bypassed 150 cm of my intestines and my pouch is the size of a large egg.   When did you have surgery?

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

I had my surgery last August 2,2006 .  I'm still on all my diabetic meds, high bllod pressure meds, depression meds and I'm so fed up!!   I lost 24 pounds before surgery and I went in weighing 299.  To this day I'm only down to 246...  by the way I live in Gambrills behind the firehouse at Waugh Chapel and Reidel Road.  You can see my pictures on my listing.  Maybe we could be support buddies?  I really need it and after I had my surgery 20 days later I lost my mom having a heart transplant   life has really been hard in the last 10 months and I feel alot of depression...

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother.  It is a very hard thing to go through but worse during a life altering change. I love my Mom Sept 18 2003 and till this day I have a very hard time with her loss.   Has your surgeon say why you are not losing? Have you asked for a revision? What has your nutritionist say to you about not being able to lose the weight?  Are you able to eat a lot for one meal?   We live near to eachother.  Why don't you come to the support group meeting we have on Thursday the 21st at 6pm to 8pm.  It would be nice to meet you and maybe we can all help you with your journey.  We can definitely be support buddies! I have been through depression and I can totally relate.  We are here for you. hugs,

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

I definitely want to come to the support group.  What time and where at?  my doctor hasn't said anything about revision because I have a 18 month window to loose the weight.  I still need to loose at least 75 lbs.

The support meeting is at the Crofton Library on Riedel road.  Not from from you. I hope to see you there bring your wife too! When do you see your doctor again? maybe you can discuss what you are going through and he and the nutritionist can come up with a plan. See you Thursday evening  it is from 6pm to 8pm.

Hey there! I am so sorry to hear your weight loss isn't what you expected, and of course, that you lost your mother after such a huge life change.  I can't imagine the stress!  Just this week, after reading posts about how much was bypassed, I asked questions to my program.  I went with Dr. Li at Sinai (the same program as yours) and I was told that they have a formula based on what amount it would be safe to lose.  But they don't do any of the "severe malabsorbtion" procedures, they allow for ~10% malabsorbtion.   Since you are not having the sucess you wanted, have you been in touch with Nancy (the nutritionist)?  I have been in regular email contact with her and she has been tremendously helpful!  Maybe she can help you get on a losing track?   As an aside, I looked at your pictures.  I didn't have any bruising like that at all around my scars.  Did everyone else have bruising?  Wow.
